5 reason I love the bible!
The bible is pretty amazing! Its pretty cool that what has been written was actually given by God himself but yet men were written to write it. How cool is that!?!? This book has more interpretations and has stirred up more controversy than any other book. You don’t hear near as much discussion about the satanic bible- why? Because when God writes a book- it lasts and His word accomplishes what it sets out to accomplish. His word delivers to all generations and brings life to those who believe in these words. The bible is not just another book, it’s not just history, it’s the word of God. It’s living , active and when you read it with a faith mindset- you will find yourself having such a desire to read it not for information or a history lesson, but for a heart connection with Jesus- which begins to change you and others around you .
Here are 5 reasons why I love the Bible-
1. It lifes me- Through consistency and greater understanding of the bible, passion is released and I find myself walking, praying, giving, discerning, worshipping, forgiving, and serving at such a higher level.
2. It fills me- I find I can face the greater issues that come my way when I am faithfully in the Bible reading. I am able to draw strength from others and from Gods faithfulness. The things that seemed so overwhelming before are not so much now! It keeps me connected to His ability and not my own! My heart changes as I stay consistent and lean more to the ’want to’ rather than feeling like ‘I have to’ for merit!
3. Through reading, I learn Jesus’ heart!
This to me is most important and has been my desire for many years- pretty sure this is a life long commitment!
4. Through reading, I receive clarity- Not sure how you are wired, but I usually have a million thoughts and ideas running through my mind. The trick is settling in on what His plan is. Gotta sift through the many thoughts to find the God idea. When I consistently read the bible, I receive clarity in the God plan for my life and the church. I know it sounds too simple, but seriously- that’s how it works for me. His word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Direction becomes clear.
5. It gives me a bigger perspective than my own little world- That is His kingdom purposes.
It’s easy in today’s day to get all focused on our personal needs, wants, dreams and desires. But the bible opens me up to the Gods desires. When I pray “break my heart with the things that break your heart”- it always boils down to his love for people.
Well, these are my top five!
