Thoughts on Transition!

We must become like a child! We must change and become! This past Sunday was such a timely message for Cross Current! Pastor Michael delivered a great message on“Transition and Change”.  We are definitely in another transition here at CC… but as I look back over the 18 years of being here, ‘When haven’t we been in transition?!?  From the Church Street building to McMorran- from McMorran to the old roller skating rink that Baker College bought and made into a parking lot- lol. From the roller rink to our current building at 4864 Lapeer Rd which was purchased this past January. These are only some of the transitions over the years. I believe that when you walk with God the scenery often changes. Actually, I can get bored with the same scenery. I believe we can serve, live, have the same marriage for years and still be changing the scenery of our lives. The scenery I am referring to is the scenery on the inside- which will affect the outside. I have found that when I am growing within, then he makes me content and I am filled with expectancy, faith, and passion is increased! I always want to be growing, I always want to be advancing, I want us as the people of God to never get stagnant in our walk. Don’t allow your run/walk with Him to become a limp. If your limping on the inside, then that can change but YOU have to first!

Signs your walk is becoming a limp!

  • Have you lost your passion for Jesus and the call on the inside?
  • Are you reading? (the bible, other books that challenge you)
  • Do you have that one person that can kick ya in the butt if and when you need it?
  • Have you pulled back from relationships and begun blaming others for your isolation?
  • Has your heart for the things of God become hardened to the point you could almost careless
  • Have you lost that excitement of being used by God to change lives?
  • Are you bored when you see lives changed?
  • Has your praying lost the personal connection with the heart of Jesus?
  • Have you lost the desire/heart for God’s church (the people) whom He loves so deeply?

I could go on and on, but these will do for now!

Lets make a decision today to continually change and become! From the words of Waterboy-  ”U CAN DO IT!!!!”
